Tip of the Week

1866-1946
Herbert George Wells was born in Bromely, Kent, England. He became a draperīs apprentice at age 13, and later won a scholarship to the Normal School of Science in London. In 1895, he gained success with the publication of his first novel, The Time Machine. His later works focused on Utopianism, and he also wrote the nonfiction Outline of History. Wells has been called the "father of science fiction" and many of his novels have been made into popular current movies.
